Here’s how our shop works:
SHIP IT TO US: You are responsible for shipping your quilt to GVQS. We will ship the completed quilt back to you via Priority Mail.
BACKING FABRIC: If not included, we plently of fabric in shop. There will be a $15 add-on to prep backing for you if you are purchasing at the time of quilting.
BE SURE THERE IS ENOUGH BACKING: If you send us your backing, please be sure to provide enough fabric to ensure a 4” overhang on EACH side. All fabric needs to be new cotton fabric. We may also quilt minky and flannel.
QUILT TOP and BOTTOM PREP: All seams must pressed flat and loose threads are cut off from the pieced top and the backing, additionally:
SQUARE THE TOP and BOTTOM FABRIC: The quilt top is squared to it’s final size. Your backing is square with the additional 4 inches on each side. ie: if your quilt measures 40x60”, you will need to send us backing measuring 48”x68”.
USING MINKY OR FLANNEL: If you are using Minky or Flannel, we require a 1” seam on your backing. You do this as these products will separate at the seams , especially with short seam allowances.
The quilt seams need to be pressed flat as much as possible. WARNING: This rarely happens but extra bulky seams, (example, when 6+ points meet together) can break a needle and may leave holes on a quilt. We will NOT be responsible if that occurs
BATTING: To save you on initial shipping, we will provide batting at our cost to you. Our options are listed on our Detail Sheet. If you want to send us your batting, we require it to be new, and it must be 4” bigger on all sides of quilt top. We will send back any pieces over 4" in all directions.
PRICING: Our minimum price is $50. This price includes shipping back to you. Each quilt is sent back in a protective sleeve and in a new shipping box. We charge $0.0225 per square inch, plus batting.
EXTRA CHARGES: Through our Good Vibes Details Process, we may discuss additional requests you may desire. We can provide semi-custom options, such as contrast border finishing, backing prep, and so many other possibilities. Again, these items can be discussed prior to you shipping your quilt during the Good Vibes Details Process.
FINAL PAYMENT: Final payment will need to be made prior to return shipping. An invoice will be sent and payment requested. Unpaid quilts are subject to a $10 storage fee after 30 days of completion.
DISCLAIMER: I will be treating your quilt with the upmost care and attention to detail. I will work out imperfections such as bubbles in the fabric, wavy borders or other misfortunes that occur while piecing the top, however I can not make magic. I can promise you, I will do my very, very best work.
